Post your favorite things about the series. It can be anything.

When I say "Dragon Ball", I mean the entire manga.

Seeing the great vocal capacities of the characters
once upon a time there lived a man, this man had all the awensers to every question man made, however he could not speak, when he awoke one morning he found two men discussing a topic he was all too familiar with so as usual he tried to explain the awenser to them, but they just ignored him and carried on at that momment a box came along and told the man:
"If you really want people to hear your ideas even if you are right to cant just tell them they must serch for it, if you like you can live inside me and people can come and ask me there questions and i shall respond with your awensers"
The man nodded and lived inside the box, people constantly consult the box for awensers but sometimes dont believe it,You know what the mans name was:

For it's time it was very original.

The charracters personality are so fresh that it keeps showing up in your mind, even after all those years that it has passed by.

To put it into words, the charracters feels"real".

The simple fighting seems to pull me for some reason.
For a simple series, the characters themselves seem rather awesome and complex still. Nowadays, Ki is kinda boring but the attacks are still awesome, even if most are a little generic and similar.

I dig the plot, and I even like the off panel/screen plot history that was provided.

Something totally extra: You gotta give full props to Dragon Ball for being a series that managed to get 13 decently good anime movies to run alongside it. Other series aren't that fortunate.

I like the (perverted) comedy at the beginning of the series, and that certain feel it had to it. I can't really describe it.

Techniques and martial arts actually mattered. You saw many different fighting styles and great interaction between characters. It was really dumbed down in Z.

The fights were pretty good, martial arts were fun, the comedy made me laugh, and the energy attacks were had a bit of awe to them.
Kid Goku I feel was also more enjoyable as a main character than adult Goku.

What everyone said pretty much sums up why Dragonball Z is so special. I'm sure majority of the fan base clicked instantly with the show just as I have.

We're talking about Dragon Ball specifically.
Don't worry, at first I thought it was talking about Z as well. :p

Actually, I meant the entire series. "Dragon Ball" is a catch-all term to me, sorry for the confusion.

Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and soon to be Dragonball Super. They each have subtle attributes that makes them loveable.

Dragonball GT as well if you don't care about the canon storyline.

I've enjoyed all of them and am loving DBS so far. I really hope DBS achieves the same intensity as DBZ has. This way, the next generation can have another Dragonball series! (Hopefully Toriyama will be willing to continue this surreal series)

It's just average, but it still became the most popular Manga in Shonen Jump by the end of Part I... By the Freeza Arc, it became extremely popular, taking up 70% of Jump's popularity. To the point where the author absolutely HAD to extend it two more Arcs.

One Piece is something that truly achieved greatness, all the while being the new DBZ. See how the best Arc in DBZ (Freeza) made it so popular? The best arc in One Piece (Whitebeard War) actually made a popularity explosion in the west, despite 4Kids butchering its success.

Yes opinions and tastes are subjective, but there is quite an immense fanbase following the Dragonball series. It must mean that it's a great anime, right?
